Annealing
One of the heat treatment processes is called annealing and the aim of annealing is to decrease the hardness of a material. Annealing is generally used after the casting, forging, and rolling to develop the machinability, to improve ductility by monitoring the microstructure and to make softer material. The annealing process involves heating material to a temperature which is above the critical transformation point and then slow cooling down.
